Facility Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Facility Engineer to oversee the comprehensive maintenance and operational efficiency of our facilities in Doha, Qatar. This role involves leading inspection routines, managing maintenance teams, and ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections of facilities and equipment to detect maintenance and repair requirements promptly.
• Generate detailed reports for clients reflecting inspection and maintenance findings.
• Apply critical decision-making skills in managing maintenance operations and priorities.
• Demonstrate expertise in Service Level Agreements (SLA) and priority management for facility tasks.
• Interpret and understand technical drawings including CAD drawings such as Drawings, SLD, and Risers.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE.
• Handle escalation procedures effectively when required.
• Possess in-depth understanding of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and chilled water systems.
• Lead supervisors and technicians to complete maintenance work according to planned schedules and preventive maintenance plans (PPM).
• Organize and prepare all necessary materials to support maintenance activities.
• Utilize CAFM systems for Corrective Maintenance (CM), preventive maintenance (PPM), job planning, checklist creation, and tool management.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance efforts—including routine, repair, and upgrade activities.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance strategies to ensure facility reliability and safety.
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records for reference and audit.
• Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and prevailing industry standards.
• Identify cost-saving measures and enhance operational efficiencies within facility management.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors on facility projects.
• Provide prompt responses to facility emergencies and resolve issues swiftly to minimize disruptions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least 4 years’ experience in facility management or a comparable role.
• Strong background in building systems, maintenance procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Self-motivated with the capability to manage and prioritize tasks independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages, both spoken and written.
• Proficient with computer software applicable to facility management functions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
