Full-Stack Software Engineer — Ruby

Role overview

Autobia is hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong Ruby on Rails background to work across services, data, and integrations, while also stepping into front-end work when needed. The role is centered on a high-volume money-movement environment that handles thousands of BNPL and POS transactions, so accuracy, reliability, and scalability are essential.

What you will do

• Develop, launch, and support Rails-based backend services as well as full-stack product features.
• Take complete ownership of your work from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and maintain connections with both internal systems and third-party services.
• Produce clean, maintainable code and participate in technical choices made by the squad.

What the role requires

• Mid to senior full-stack engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend work and solid Ruby on Rails expertise.
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in full-stack development.
• Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, relational databases, and software testing.
• Ability to work across the stack, including building and troubleshooting front-end features when necessary.
• Experience working with high-traffic and high-throughput systems, with an ability to perform well under load.
• A strong ownership mindset and the ability to move a problem from early ambiguity through delivery and ongoing support.

Nice to have

• Background in payments, BNPL, POS, or other fintech and money-movement products.
• Experience supporting systems where reliability and correctness are critical.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to React.
• Experience with GKE or AWS.
