Position Overview

NZSE is recruiting for an IT Tutor to lead our Level 4 Certificate in Internet Technology program. This fixed-term, full-time contract from August to December 2026 is based at our Manukau campus and involves in-person engagement during the week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver interactive lessons aligned with the curriculum using the Canvas platform.
  • Support students to develop practical internet technology and digital literacy competencies.
  • Foster an inclusive, learner-focused classroom environment.
  • Evaluate student assignments and provide constructive, timely feedback.
  • Maintain precise academic documentation and track learner progress.
  • Engage in moderation and quality assurance procedures.
  • Integrate culturally responsive teaching strategies, incorporating Te Ao Māori concepts into instruction.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds at least a Level 4 qualification in Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
  • Experienced in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting domestic learners within educational or community frameworks.
  • Passionate about nurturing youth success.
  • Effective classroom management and communication capabilities.
  • Familiarity with online assessment creation and/or development.
  • Deep understanding of Te Ao Māori, kaupapa Māori values, and culturally appropriate teaching methods.
  • Prior involvement working with young people and adults in tertiary education.
