Overview

Larimer County Information Technology is seeking a motivated and organized Junior Project Manager / Scrum Master to join their Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This role offers a chance to build a career in project management by leading small to medium IT projects and facilitating Agile Scrum teams. The position involves managing projects from start to finish, guiding Agile ceremonies, collaborating across departments, and delivering impactful technological solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to medium IT projects through all lifecycle phases from initiation to closeout.
  • Collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders, business units, vendors, and technical teams to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including plans, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and status updates.
  • Facilitate project-related meetings, workshops, and communications.
  • Act as Scrum Master by leading Agile ceremonies, assisting backlog refinement, and driving team improvements.
  • Identify and address project risks, issues, dependencies, and remove obstacles while escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Track project scope, timeline, budget, resources, and priorities to keep initiatives on target.
  • Manage procurement processes, vendor relations, and contract administration during project execution.
  • Contribute to PMO standards, governance, tools, templates, and continuous process enhancements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience in project or program management.
  • At least one year of experience coordinating, facilitating, or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to earn Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification within one year of employment.
  • Reliable transportation required to work at various county locations as needed.
