Maintenance Electrician - Day Shift

About the Role

Oji Fibre Solutions, a prominent New Zealand packaging manufacturer serving industries such as food, primary produce, industrial, and grocery sectors, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join their busy manufacturing facility in Mangere Bridge, Auckland. This position operates during the day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

The electrician will be tasked with performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and contributing to project work within the plant to minimize production downtime. The job includes maintaining and managing electrical systems, particularly PLCs, HMIs, speed controls, and other programmable hardware involved in safeguarding and system control. Supporting both development and application software is also part of the role, with additional flexibility required to work overtime during peak seasons or as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Registered New Zealand Industrial Electrician qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in industrial electrical and automation settings.
• Advanced trade certification is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude or dual trade skills advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in computer use, including CMMS systems.
• Extensive knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
• Experience working with variable speed drives.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
