About the Role
Rockwell, an expanding engineering firm in Ireland, seeks an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its team based in County Cork. This role offers the opportunity to engage across a range of projects, from modest to large-scale, in diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates for projects spanning various sizes and sectors.
- Manage the entire tender process from initiation through to completion.
- Maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with Directors and Project Managers on bidding prospects.
- Participate in pre- and post-tender interviews.
- Gather and verify subcontractor quotations in line with specifications.
- Attend internal and client meetings as required.
- Perform material take-offs from tender drawings.
- Handle project variations and provide timely updates to Project Managers.
- Oversee project reporting and monthly claim management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical projects is beneficial, reflecting knowledge of industry standards and technologies.
- Exposure to design-build projects and working in live environments is advantageous.
- Strong team collaboration and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Experience with estimating software such as Total Estimating or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development and learning.
- Minimum of three years' experience in estimating roles on high-value projects.
