Position Overview
Fitness Formula Clubs (FFC) is seeking a full-time Operations/Facility Manager to join our Chicago location. This role focuses on maintaining a secure, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and colleagues while managing various operational teams and facility functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and health standards for the club environment across all areas.
- Oversee customer service operations, front desk activities, and spa desk interactions.
- Manage staffing for Housekeeping and Hospitality teams including scheduling, time tracking, payroll approval, personnel file management, and conducting employee performance reviews.
- Collaborate with the Membership team and other personnel to drive member retention and attract new members.
- Support frontline staff during peak hours to deliver exceptional hospitality service.
- Coordinate with housekeeping to develop procedures and schedules for landscaping and facility upkeep.
- Set up key control systems, keep issuance records, and perform general locksmith duties.
- Maintain inventory and recommend essential equipment purchases and repairs in conjunction with the General Manager, participate in competitive bidding processes.
- Prepare annual department budgets with General Manager and Accounting Director, and manage expenditures related to housekeeping payroll, maintenance and repairs, supplies, and pool expenses.
- Establish and maintain relationships with landlords, building representatives, and fitness equipment vendors, ensuring proper maintenance standards.
- Conduct regular audits of equipment, coordinate necessary repairs, and keep operating manuals and parts catalogs on file.
- Develop and implement disaster and safety plans for emergencies such as fires.
- Coordinate contractor activities and supervise their projects.
- Contribute to club cleanliness and uphold cleanliness standards among all staff.
Additional Duties
- Achieve individual and departmental targets as assigned by the General Manager.
- Keep communication documents, including SOPs and training materials, current and accessible.
- Maintain cleanliness standards for Customer Service staff, Front Desk, and office areas.
- Timely preparation and submission of all required paperwork and reports.
- Participate in scheduled meetings including weekly leadership and semiannual all-staff sessions.
- Represent FFC at club and community events such as festivals, open houses, and Chamber of Commerce activities.
- Remain on-call to respond to emergencies when needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Capable of following directives from ownership and management and assisting with special projects.
- Strong communication skills to promote superior customer service among staff and members.
- Organizational competence to manage, delegate work, and oversee authority effectively.
- Experience interpreting and managing profit and loss statements.
- Between 2 to 5 years of prior management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to motivate team members.
- Genuine passion for health and fitness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Availability to work during "Closeout" periods (last three days of each month or other designated dates).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and email communications.
- Physical ability to walk stairs and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
