About The Role
We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison between our organisation and an outsourced payroll provider. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work remotely with a collaborative team, taking full responsibility for managing payroll processes within a multi-award framework. You will handle payroll inquiries, oversee payroll coordination, and ensure workforce records are accurately maintained using Employment Hero software.
The role is fully remote within New South Wales (preferred), with an option to work from the Armidale office if local. The workload is approximately 2.5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with outsourced payroll providers to coordinate payroll processing.
- Act as the primary contact point for employee payroll-related questions.
- Review and verify timesheets, leave records, allowances, and payroll adjustments.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll documentation, including contracts and pay changes.
- Keep Employment Hero HR and payroll records accurate and in sync.
- Monitor employee leave balances and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Generate payroll reports and conduct reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll tasks related to onboarding and offboarding staff.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate takes initiative in managing payroll coordination from the outset and is comfortable working within complex multi-award environments.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in payroll coordination or payroll administration.
- Strong aptitude with numbers and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with multiple Modern Awards; experience with SCHADS awards is highly valued.
- Proactive problem-solving ability, confidently seeking clarification instead of making assumptions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in payroll.
- Experience working alongside outsourced payroll providers.
- Proficiency with Employment Hero software is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing several priorities effectively.
