Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage daily transportation schedules for Canadian logistics operations ensuring optimal coordination.
- Facilitate communication between drivers, carriers, clients, and internal teams to guarantee on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor shipment locations proactively addressing delays, routing problems, and operational obstacles.
- Create dispatch plans that organize load assignments and delivery timelines efficiently.
- Maximize resource utilization including trucks and drivers to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Update customers on shipment status and service requirements timely and accurately.
- Maintain precise shipment documentation, scheduling records, and operational reports.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations departments to boost delivery performance while lowering costs.
- Ensure all operations comply with Canadian transportation laws, company guidelines, and safety standards.
- Respond swiftly to urgent operational challenges to uphold service quality.
- Analyze logistics data to propose improvements in routing and workflow for increased efficiency.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Previous experience in roles like Logistics Planner, Transportation Coordinator, or Dispatcher in the logistics or trucking sector.
- Familiarity with Canadian logistics systems, transportation networks, and freight handling processes.
- Proficient understanding of route scheduling, planning, and load optimization techniques.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or equivalent dispatch/logistics software is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform efficiently in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational capabilities.
- Competent in MS Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with various cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge or experience in Canadian trucking, freight brokerage, or fleet operations is preferred.
