Program Manager Fellowship

About the Role

STRI Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a client for the position of Program Manager Fellowship. This role is designed to support emerging leaders in the education sector who collaborate closely with government school environments to promote comprehensive development for students. The fellowship emphasizes a whole-school transformation strategy, with Fellows working alongside educators, school administrators, and community members to enhance student learning, wellbeing, and overall school environment.

As a Program Manager, you will oversee the fellowship's execution across multiple government schools within a rural block. Your responsibilities include mentoring Fellows, engaging with education officials at the block level, and fostering sustainable school improvements. The fellowship aims to positively influence the lives of one million children over the next decade by establishing durable models of school transformation within government institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor Fellows to enhance their teaching capabilities, leadership qualities, and effectiveness in whole-school transformation initiatives.
• Assist Fellows in partnering with Headmasters and teachers to better classroom instruction, increase student participation, and build a positive school culture.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with block education officers, resource teachers, and school leaders to align fellowship activities with government education priorities.
• Monitor the progress of Fellows and schools through site visits, data analysis, and regular evaluations to ensure achievement of program goals.
• Participate in fellowship-related efforts including recruitment, strategic planning, donor communications, and refining program design.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in people management or project leadership roles.
• Teaching experience or background in content development is preferable.
• Holder of a graduate, postgraduate, or equivalent fellowship qualification.
• Prior involvement in managing or designing fellowship programs is advantageous.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Previous classroom teaching experience and capacity to coach teachers to excel.
• Skillful at creating and executing outcome-driven plans with team collaboration.
• Competence in designing and facilitating adult education sessions.
• Analytical ability to collect and interpret data to guide program decisions.
• Solid knowledge of the education system, including policies, curriculum frameworks, and school operations.
• Strong communication skills in both English and Tamil, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• Emotional intelligence to effectively engage with a diverse team.
• Resourceful, self-motivated, and a cooperative team player.
• Forward-thinking with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and proposing solutions.
