About University Relations
The University Relations Division at the University of Denver advances the university's brand through a unified and authentic voice focused on protecting its reputation, encouraging student enrollment and engagement, enhancing inclusion, and strengthening the university overall. The team employs data-driven storytelling across various channels including public/media relations, digital strategies, social media, print, podcasts, crisis management, community relations, thought leadership, and training to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and foster collaboration and innovation.
Position Summary
The Project Coordinator plays an integral role on the inaugural project management team within University Relations, overseeing projects from initiation to completion and offering operational support division-wide. This role suits a detail-focused professional who excels in a team setting and is motivated by creating foundational systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects independently, covering scope definition, timeline setup, task delegation, progress tracking, and stakeholder communication.
- Receive and assess incoming project requests, prioritize them accurately, and allocate through the project management system.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and status reports within the management platform.
- Facilitate teamwork between University Relations and external campus partners to ensure deadlines are met.
- Detect and address project challenges early by communicating with relevant parties.
- Support the development and enhancement of project management tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with Internal & Executive Communications to build, review, test, and send email campaigns via Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Monitor and report on email campaign results to promote continuous improvement.
- Offer support on project management tools for staff, generate reports and updates for leadership, and assist with scheduling and event logistics.
- Act professionally as a brand representative in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, experience, or military background.
- A minimum of one year experience in project coordination, management, marketing operations, communications, or related areas.
- Proficient in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong organizational skills to juggle numerous projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to varied audiences.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially for quality assurance and proofreading.
- Collaborative team player skilled in building solid cross-departmental relationships.
- Comfortable adapting to fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
- Keen to quickly learn and share knowledge of new tools and systems.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, Jira, or equivalents.
- Experience with CRM or marketing automation tools, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, or HubSpot.
- Background working in higher education, nonprofit, or similarly structured organizations.
Working Conditions
- Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. following a hybrid schedule, typically three days on site and two remote per week.
- Candidates should reside or be willing to relocate to the Denver metropolitan area.
- Occasional travel and weekend or after-hours work may be required.
- Work involves primarily office tasks but also some movement around campus.
- Physical demands include extended computer use and ability to adjust to changing priorities.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is graded at level 8 with an hourly pay range of $25.54 to $26.57. The salary offered will be based on candidate qualifications, budget, internal equity, and market data.
