Project Engineer

About the Role

Join Epiroc's innovative Research and Development team in Bengaluru as a Project Engineer focused on advancing product development in heavy machinery within the Corporate Units business. This position involves designing, developing, and validating robust engineering solutions to meet stringent quality and operational needs, contributing to international projects in mining and heavy engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and clarify technical requirements from multiple stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding before initiating design efforts.
• Create design concepts and detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Creo 9, complemented by engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Conduct self-assessments of designs and actively participate in technical reviews, integrating feedback to refine solutions.
• Propose enhancements and process optimizations to boost product functionality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve queries and incorporate input, ensuring satisfaction with final designs.
• Strictly follow established design procedures, standards, and corporate policies to maintain engineering excellence and compliance.
• Manage project schedules and deliverables efficiently in accordance with internal project management practices, providing timely updates to leadership.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• 4 to 6 years of practical experience in engineering and product development within the heavy engineering industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/BTech) with a minimum academic achievement of 70% or 7.5 CGPA.
• Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing techniques, hydraulics, engineering materials, and structural design principles related to heavy machinery.
• Proficient in engineering calculations and validations essential to product durability and performance.
• Experience with new product development processes, maintenance, and engineering release workflows.
• Competence in mechanism design and analytical methods to innovate effective mechanical solutions.
• Familiarity with manufacturing considerations such as tolerances, finishes, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Hands-on proficiency with Creo 9 CAD and PLM tools like Teamcenter for design collaboration and management.
