Job Overview
Wood seeks expressions of interest for the position of Offshore Project Manager based in Doha, Qatar. This pivotal role involves managing projects across studies, FEED, EPC, and PMC scopes while adhering to company and project execution plans. The role emphasizes maintaining safety, quality, scheduling, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold Wood and client health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, leading by example and ensuring compliance across all work activities.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and control project execution.
- Develop and implement project execution and scheduling plans aligned with company and contract requirements.
- Provide leadership on HSSE and Quality plans for projects.
- Maintain project budgets within established objectives.
- Focus on customer care and incorporate customer feedback effectively.
- Understand and act on the project's business drivers.
- Serve as the central liaison for engineering, procurement, and project resources deployed.
- Collaborate closely with client management to accommodate client interests.
- Clearly communicate project objectives and organizational structure to team members.
- Report regularly on project performance data to the company.
- Monitor and expedite project account receivables.
- Document lessons learned and apply insights from previous projects.
- Lead project closeout activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Between 15 to 20 years of relevant industry experience.
- Project management certifications such as PMP or APM are preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools for document creation, presentations, tracking, and scheduling.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and driven individual.
- Strong commercial insight with ability to interpret contracts and manage delays, changes, and commercial issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate multi-disciplinary teams positively.
- Extensive experience in risk and change management across all project phases, including design and site execution.
- Exposure to project life cycles such as Concept/Feasibility, Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up, and Warranty.
- Demonstrated experience managing lump sum engineering contracts within the oil and gas sector, preferably with Qatar-related projects.
- Capability to lead in complex environments and confidently make and drive decisions.
- Strong analytical thinking, organizational, and administrative competence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams to align goals and commitments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personalities; tactful and adaptable.
- High energy and ability to manage multifaceted projects.
- Proven servant leadership with strong team management capabilities.
Additional Expectations
- Ability to independently and remotely manage assigned work scopes while leading others with minimal supervision.
- Take ownership of scopes, coordinating engineering disciplines and support services to achieve project goals.
- Experience working autonomously, remote from technical leadership.
- Experience working in small project offices supporting cross-disciplinary activities beyond core disciplines.
- Willingness and availability to represent Wood during onshore and offshore surveys; either hold or be willing to acquire relevant certifications such as BOSIET and H2S Awareness.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with capability to interpret and communicate complex scope and contract documentation.
