Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Scheduler to join our consulting team supporting offshore projects at a coal terminal near Mackay, Queensland. The role involves creating, updating, and reporting on project schedules to facilitate safe and effective project execution. You will coordinate schedules integrating project activities, shutdowns, and operational constraints, working alongside project teams, operations, maintenance, and contractors. This position is primarily site-based with some remote work flexibility, requiring roughly 40 to 50 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Microsoft Project, incorporating critical path analysis, resource allocation, baseline setting, progress tracking, and forecasting.
- Integrate maintenance, operations, and project schedules in a dynamic operational environment.
- Support planning for shutdowns, outages, brownfield projects, and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
- Identify scheduling constraints, risks, and opportunities, and manage them proactively.
- Deliver schedule forecasts, cost and progress reports, and project controls assistance.
- Coordinate between project teams, contractors, operations, and maintenance to align delivery plans.
- Support risk-based project planning and ensure effective execution of scheduled activities.
- Maintain schedule governance and consistent reporting standards.
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years’ experience in planning and scheduling roles.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining, ports, bulk handling, or heavy industry sectors.
- Proven experience with shutdown and brownfield project scheduling.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM), resource loading and leveling, schedule forecasting, constraint management, and baseline control.
- Experience with risk-based planning and project reporting.
