Position Overview
Kforce is recruiting a Proofreader to join a Phoenix, AZ client team. This role is focused on refining and developing communications intended for customers. It suits a skilled writer and editor capable of simplifying complex information into clear, engaging, and effective messages. The Proofreader will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand and editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Compose, revise, and improve customer-facing communications across various platforms.
- Check content meticulously for grammar, accuracy, tone, clarity, and uniformity.
- Work alongside business partners to convert complicated ideas into easy-to-understand language.
- Guarantee all content complies with editorial guidelines and style mandates.
- Adjust messaging for various audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Handle several projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
- Assist with communication planning, documentation, and enhancing content-related processes.
- Deliver quality assurance through thorough proofreading and content assessments.
Role Requirements
- Experience in creating and improving internal or external communications.
- Proficiency with SharePoint and other collaboration platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of editorial best practices, especially AP Style conventions.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- High attention to detail and a strong dedication to content quality.
- Superior organizational skills enabling management of multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Skill in communicating intricate business information succinctly and persuasively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background supporting customer-focused communication projects.
- Experience in project coordination and managing content workflows.
- Familiarity with regulated sectors such as financial services, banking, or insurance.
- Educational or professional foundation in communications, public relations, marketing, corporate communications, or content creation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to condense large volumes of information into actionable and brief messaging.

This contract position entails a crucial function in shaping the customer communications of a prominent organization. The successful candidate will engage across diverse teams, contribute significantly to communications initiatives, and help ensure clients receive clear and impactful messaging.
Note on Compensation: Pay ranges shared represent the lowest to highest estimates reasonably expected for this position based on good faith evaluations. Actual pay is influenced by education, skills, experience, location, performance, union contracts, and business needs, and can be adjusted. Salaried employees enjoy benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), life, disability, and AD&D insurance. Paid time off applies to salaried staff; hourly employees’ PTO depends on law or contract requirements. This role is not eligible for bonuses or commissions.
