QA Engineer

Role Overview

This opportunity is offered by a partner company seeking a QA Engineer based in the United States. The role involves ensuring the quality, dependability, and performance of cutting-edge fintech products within intricate payment systems. Collaborating within cross-functional product teams, the QA Engineer will lead the testing efforts throughout the software lifecycle to deliver flawless user experiences and stable platform features.

Key Responsibilities

• Own quality assurance tasks within product teams, guaranteeing exceptional standards at all development phases.
• Plan, execute, and sustain extensive testing procedures including functional, UI, API, integration, regression, and exploratory tests.
• Conduct detailed web application validations across various browsers, devices, and screen dimensions to achieve precise visual performance.
• Test API endpoints focusing on authentication, payload checks, error management, and integrations with third parties using industry tools.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and design teams to establish quality objectives early and endorse shift-left testing approaches.
• Develop clear, reusable test scenarios, comprehensive defect documentation, and supportive materials for efficient problem-solving.
• Continuously assess and enhance test coverage, regression testing strategies, and QA documentation and processes.
• Drive ongoing enhancements in QA tools, procedures, and promote a culture that prioritizes quality across the company.

Experience and Skills Required

• A minimum of three years experience in manual and semi-automated testing of web applications.
• At least two years of practical API testing experience, dealing with authentication, payload validation, and error handling.
• Demonstrated background in testing payment platforms, financial software, transactional operations, or other critical systems.
• Proficient in Postman, Swagger, Chrome DevTools, SQL, and test management platforms like TestRail or Xray.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, frontend-backend interactions, session handling, data verification, and application architecture.
• Experience in responsive UI testing across multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices.
• Sound knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Keen analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong orientation towards detecting functional and visual flaws.
• Capability to independently prioritize tasks and communicate effectively within distributed cross-disciplinary teams.
