Role Overview

This position is part of CWILL’s engineering division tasked with developing innovative SaaS products for Shopify merchants, including AI-driven customer service solutions and SEO optimization tools. The Management Trainee program is aimed at new workforce entrants ready to engage quickly. Trainees join product engineering teams and contribute to live systems from day one, guided by experienced mentors. Progression is expected towards independent module ownership and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack features with emphasis on backend components such as APIs, business logic, and integrations.
• Engage in design of technical solutions, writing code, integration testing, and deployment of features.
• Ensure high-quality delivery aligned with specifications.
• Support production debugging, including root cause analyses and problem resolution.
• Utilize logging, monitoring, and database tools to troubleshoot issues attentively.
• Contribute towards continuous enhancements in system stability, speed, and code maintainability.
• Adhere to team standards including code reviews, documentation, and testing.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication of progress and challenges.
• Join post-launch evaluations, aiming to refine code quality and judgment.
• Advance to greater responsibilities with module ownership and technical leadership.

Candidate Requirements

• Recent graduate (within 1–2 years) from a US university with BS or MS degree.
• Competence in at least one backend programming language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or PHP.
• Fundamental knowledge of web protocols including HTTP, REST APIs, frontend-backend interactions, and relational databases.
• Basic ability with SQL and experience with databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Confident in reading documentation, systematic debugging, and completing tasks independently.
• Dependable and communicative, with an ability to anticipate and report issues promptly while meeting commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with technologies such as React, Node.js, Next.js, NestJS, Python, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Background in AI and large language model projects including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), chatbots, or content creation.
• Familiarity with Shopify app development, standalone store technologies, SEO tools, or SaaS products.
• Internships in technology or SaaS environments, contribution to open source, or personal coding projects.
• Understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms like AWS or Aliyun.
• Active GitHub presence demonstrating consistent code contributions.
• Competitive programming experience (e.g., ACM contests, LanQiao Cup).
• Experience with AI-enhanced development assistants like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience, with openness to negotiation.
