Position Overview
We are seeking a Design Lead specializing in Manufacturing Processes to join our Cork, Ireland location on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate effectively between onsite and offshore teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Utilize Mechanical design tools such as CREO and Windchill PLM proficiently.
- Provide expertise in sustenance engineering practices.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques including machining, brazing, welding, sheet metal forming, and related operations.
- Apply insights in plastic design and plastic manufacturing processes.
- Manage assembly and part tolerancing, incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Engage with manufacturing and service teams to facilitate smooth product transitions into production.
- Adapt quickly and prioritize shifting project requirements effectively.
- Deliver clear and compelling technical presentations with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define and refine design requirements precisely.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models to validate design approaches.
- Mentor junior design staff by sharing knowledge through training and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software design aligns with broader project objectives.
- Partner with quality assurance teams to uphold robust quality standards.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./M.S).
- At least 12 years of professional experience in relevant engineering roles.
