Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at Column, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining the technological backbone that supports our entire operation, including payments, developer tools, and core platform services. This role combines deep technical challenges at the crossroads of infrastructure, software engineering, and finance, requiring ownership of critical systems that enable high-value daily transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain essential infrastructure components encompassing computing resources, storage systems, networking configurations, security measures, and observability tools.
• Manage fundamental banking infrastructure involving direct connections with the Federal Reserve and real-time payment networks.
• Create and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines, developer-oriented tools, and release management processes.
• Enhance platform resilience and uptime by advancing monitoring, testing protocols, and automating system operations.
• Lead significant platform projects including authentication and authorization systems, change data capture, and cross-application API development.
• Work closely with hardware-level optimizations to improve performance, reliability, and accuracy across software systems.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and compliance standards within a regulated, mission-critical financial environment.

Compensation Details
