Technical Director

Job Summary

Mobco Group is hiring a senior Technical Director to steer the technical and engineering side of major construction programs in Saudi Arabia. This role calls for an Architectural or Civil Engineering background along with deep hands-on experience delivering large-scale mega projects. The selected professional will guide every technical element of project execution, with responsibility for design quality, engineering coordination, compliance, and smooth delivery from early concept stages through final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the full range of technical and engineering activities across assigned mega projects.
• Build and apply technical approaches that support successful project delivery.
• Oversee coordination among Architectural, Civil, Structural, MEP, and specialist engineering disciplines.
• Examine and sign off on engineering drawings, technical documents, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Verify alignment with project requirements, local laws, international codes, and client expectations.
• Provide technical direction across the project lifecycle, from design development to final handover.
• Drive value engineering efforts and identify ways to improve design efficiency and control cost.
• Address complex engineering issues and reduce technical and project risks.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, project management teams, and construction teams to keep delivery on track.
• Track technical progress, construction quality, and engineering compliance across multiple projects.
• Contribute to tendering, technical proposals, procurement reviews, and contractor selection.
• Facilitate technical review sessions, design coordination workshops, and executive-level engineering presentations.
• Coach and strengthen engineering teams while encouraging innovation and high technical standards.
• Prepare senior management reports and deliver strategic technical recommendations.

Qualifications

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering. A Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration is considered a strong advantage. Membership or professional registration with a recognized engineering body is also beneficial.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 25 years of experience in technical leadership roles within construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated success in delivering mega construction projects.
• Strong background in large hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, high-rise, infrastructure, or landmark developments.
• Solid expertise in design management, technical coordination, engineering reviews, and construction support.
• Prior exposure to Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
