Technical Writer - Cyber Security Proposal & Solutioning Specialist

About the Role

Cogent IT Solutions seeks a driven and technically proficient professional to aid in Cyber Security proposal generation, solution scoping, client coordination, and project assistance. The role emphasizes strong communication skills, proposal writing expertise, requirement gathering experience, and a keen interest in cyber security technologies. The candidate will collaborate closely with leadership on Federal/SLED opportunities and participate in client and project management discussions. This is a remote, full-time role requiring work in the EST time zone (6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle proposal development for Federal, SLED, and Cyber Security projects.
• Draft proposals, responses, documentation, and deliverables for clients.
• Engage in requirement gathering and initial solution scoping sessions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect technical inputs, pricing info, and proposal documents.
• Assist in project management and track proposals using MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Participate in client meetings, sales calls, and project discussions as needed.
• Work with leadership to translate client needs into structured proposal content.
• Conduct research on cyber security market trends, technologies, and client needs.
• Employ AI and modern tools to enhance proposal quality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of meetings, action items, and proposal archives.
• Support preparation of presentations and client communications.
• Regularly engage in video calls and client-facing interactions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in proposal writing, PMO support, pre-sales, technical coordination, project management support, or cyber security support.
• Effective verbal and written communication with strong presentation skills.
• Sound understanding of technology principles, cyber security basics, and enterprise IT environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in drafting proposals, documentation, gathering requirements, and client coordination.
• Able to perform under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comfort interacting with clients and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and support cyber security solutioning and sales activities.
• Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Comfort with EST time zone working hours, including video calls.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Federal/SLED/government proposals.
• Familiarity with Cyber Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Data Analytics, or Enterprise IT solutions.
• Experience in PMO, pre-sales, technical sales support, or consulting environments.
• Knowledge of AI-powered productivity and proposal automation tools.
• Background in client-facing consulting or solution support roles.
