Vineyard Operator

About the Role

This position involves working under the supervision of the Vineyard Manager in the vineyards, contributing to the production of quality award-winning wines. The role focuses on operating machinery and maintaining the vineyards to ensure consistent quality each year.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhering to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and incident reporting.
• Supervising seasonal workers during vineyard activities.
• Performing vineyard maintenance tasks such as mulching, spraying, trimming, and plucking grapes.
• Maintaining trellis structures and irrigation systems.
• Participating in harvest operations as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (current work visa or citizenship/passport).
• Experience in vineyard work or a related industry is preferred but not mandatory; training including Growsafe certification and first aid will be provided onsite.
• Flexibility to work varied hours or shifts during seasonal periods such as harvest, spraying, and frost fighting.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
