Job description
Role Overview
This position involves programming vertical machining centers by writing and modifying G-code and M-code or utilizing CAM software to create optimized machining toolpaths. The candidate will also be expected to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, including reading GD&T symbols to ensure precise manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and edit CNC programs (G-codes and M-codes) for vertical machining centers, ensuring efficient and accurate toolpaths, sometimes by using CAM software.
- Analyze and comprehend technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols to guide machining operations.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and workholding fixtures to facilitate machining processes and ensure product quality.
