Overview
The Warehouse Specialist serves as the vital operational force within the European aftermarket supply chain of the Earthmoving Service Department. This position oversees all physical activities related to spare part management, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatching, adhering to rigorous productivity goals and European labor laws. The role demands precision in inventory management and prioritization of critical emergency orders from VIP customers.
Key Duties
- Efficiently receive and inspect incoming shipments from headquarters and local vendors, verifying quantities against documentation and promptly logging items into the Warehouse Management System using RF scanning technology.
- Accurately fulfill outbound orders by picking and packing parts, aiming to meet productivity standards of up to 60 lines per hour for small items and 15 lines per hour for larger components.
- Ensure secure packaging and correct labeling for safe transit, and oversee loading processes for outgoing shipments to courier and freight services.
- Prioritize and expedite urgent “Machine Down” orders to support key accounts, guaranteeing dispatch within agreed service levels.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in yearly physical inventories to maintain impeccable stock accuracy; report discrepancies in damaged or missing stock immediately.
- Operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely, ensuring efficient movement of heavy earthmoving parts while maintaining adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain an orderly and hazard-free working environment compliant with the stringent European environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and the 5S workplace organization method.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum education qualification: High school diploma or vocational certificate equivalent.
- Previous warehousing experience ranging from 1 to 3 years, preferably in dynamic parts distribution settings such as automotive or construction machinery sectors.
- Mandatory possession of a valid forklift operator license (including counterbalance and reach truck certifications).
- Proficient in using handheld RF scanners and basic Warehouse Management Systems.
- Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks including lifting heavy items within ergonomic safety limits and sustaining prolonged periods of activity.
- Efficient, organized, and driven to meet or exceed productivity benchmarks.
- Fluent in the local operational language (e.g., German); basic English skills are advantageous but not essential.
- Highly punctual, dependable, safety-conscious, and cooperative in team environments.
Additional Information
This full-time position mandates adherence to European labor regulations and prioritizes meeting operational KPIs while sustaining inventory precision. Candidates will work onsite in Verden, Lower Saxony, Germany, within the Earthmoving European Service Station’s Parts Department under the supervision of the Parts Manager.
