Air Freight Coordinator

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Air Freight Coordinator responsible for managing air cargo shipment processes from initial booking and preparation of documentation to final delivery. This role suits individuals who excel in dynamic logistics settings, enjoy tackling challenges promptly, and consistently ensure timely shipment completions.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate both domestic and international air freight shipments with airlines and freight forwarders.
• Prepare, review, and validate all shipping documents such as Air Waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
• Monitor shipment status continuously and address any delays, discrepancies, or exceptions proactively.
• Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments to guarantee smooth cargo movement.
• Ensure adherence to IATA regulations, relevant customs requirements, and internal standard operating procedures.
• Negotiate pricing and space allocations with airlines and carriers as necessary.
• Keep precise records within the freight or transportation management systems and provide shipment status reports regularly.
• Manage discrepancies, claims, and exceptions in a timely and professional manner.
• Contribute to cost-saving efforts by identifying optimal routing and consolidation opportunities.
• Develop and sustain robust relationships with carriers, agents, and clients.

Required Qualifications

• Between 2 and 5 years of professional experience in air freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain coordination roles.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of IATA regulations, AWB documentation protocols, and customs procedures.
• Strong organizational capabilities to handle multiple shipments at once.
• Excellent both verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in freight management or transportation management systems along with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to maintain composure and focus on solutions under pressure and tight timelines.
