AV Pre-Sales & Design Engineer

Job Summary

This role is for an experienced AV Pre-Sales & Design Engineer who will create, refine, and back integrated audio-visual solutions across a variety of project types. The position involves understanding customer needs, turning them into practical technical designs and proposals, building project documentation, and assisting the sales process with technical expertise from start to finish.

System Design

• Develop integrated AV solutions covering displays, LED video walls, projectors, sound systems, DSPs, control platforms, video conferencing setups, and AV network infrastructure.
• Choose suitable products and components based on technical fit, performance, interoperability, reliability, and project budget.
• Prepare system architecture drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack arrangements, equipment placement layouts, and related design documents.

Pre-Sales & Tender Support

• Create detailed technical proposals, BOQs/BOMs, compliance documents, and other tender-related technical submissions.
• Examine tender requirements and confirm that the proposed solution meets or surpasses client expectations.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to gather quotations, technical data, and product clarifications.
• Support the sales team during customer meetings, presentations, and tender clarification discussions with technical input.

Engineering Documentation

• Prepare the AV documentation needed for project delivery, including shop drawings, schematics, rack elevations, signal flow diagrams, BOMs, BOQs, RFI responses, change orders, installation drawings, O&M manuals, and as-built / close-out files.
• Develop technical submittals and installation documents in line with project specifications and client expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or another relevant engineering field is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in the AV sector, with solid exposure to AV system design and pre-sales engineering.
• Proven ability to produce AV designs, technical proposals, BOQs, and tender documentation.
• Good working knowledge of professional AV technologies such as video conferencing, DSP, AV-over-IP, control systems, and core networking concepts.

• AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I
• Crestron certification
• Extron certification
• Dante certification
• QSC certification
• Any other recognized professional AV certification is considered an added advantage.
