Data Management Specialist

Overview

The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting comprehensive enterprise data management solutions. This encompasses Data Governance, Data Catalog, Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Classification. The role ensures efficient onboarding of data assets into governance systems, maintaining metadata integrity, enabling ongoing data quality oversight, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as SDAIA, NDMO, and PDPL.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Data Catalog and Metadata Management solutions.
• Ensure all data assets are accurately inventoried, classified and documented, with consistent application of metadata and classification standards.
• Develop metadata models, taxonomies, business glossaries, and manage workflows related to metadata and data classification.
• Configure and administer Data Governance tools, policies, workflows, dashboards, and monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with Data Owners, Stewards, Custodians, and stakeholders to operationalize governance processes and accountability models.
• Conduct thorough enterprise-wide data profiling and quality evaluations, implement business and technical data quality rules.
• Deploy automated data quality monitoring, control mechanisms, alerts, and exception handling procedures.
• Produce data quality KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, and reports; facilitate data remediation and cleansing initiatives with business units.
• Ensure all data management activities adhere to SDAIA, NDMO, PDPL, and organizational standards; support audits and compliance checks.
• Engage with stakeholders to promote adoption of data management practices and provide user training and documentation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience implementing enterprise Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Catalog, or Data Privacy solutions within large organizations.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
• In-depth understanding of enterprise Data Management principles and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with Metadata Management, Data Catalog tools, and Data Governance frameworks.
• Expertise in Data Quality methodologies including profiling, cleansing, monitoring, and remediation.
• Knowledge of data lineage, metadata synchronization, and classification frameworks.
• Excellent analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and stakeholder management skills.

Regulatory Knowledge

• Familiarity with SDAIA, NDMO Data Management Standards, Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and KSA data classification frameworks.

Technical Proficiencies

• Experience with Open Source tools such as OpenMetadata and Great Expectations, optionally Soda, Splink, libpostal, OpenRefine, or Collate.
• Expertise in enterprise platforms like Informatica's IDMC, CDGC, CDQ, EDC, IDQ, Axon, and PowerCenter or equivalent data governance and quality solutions.

Additional Requirements

• Strong English communication ability (both written and spoken).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant data management implementation experience.
• Relevant technical qualifications and recognized certifications.
• Proven track record of implementing enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality solutions in large enterprises.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
