About the Role
Braintrust is looking for Developer Support Engineers at both mid and senior levels. This role is a key advantage for the company, since the customers are fast-moving developers building LLM-powered products, and the support team helps them keep moving.
You will work through difficult technical blockers, investigate issues, find practical workarounds, ship fixes, and document solutions so future developers can move faster. The position combines deep problem solving, strong empathy for developers, and close partnership with Engineering, Solutions, and Product teams.
The preferred location for this position is Singapore.
What You Will Do
- Investigate, debug, and resolve API and SDK issues in customer codebases, especially in Python or TypeScript.
- Recreate reported bugs, trace likely causes inside the product code, and work with Engineering to get them fixed.
- Handle support communication with developers through Slack and email, using a clear, technical, and empathetic style.
- Create and keep knowledge base articles up to date so recurring unknowns become documented answers.
- Spot ways to improve the developer experience, including better tools, documentation, and support processes.
- Build scripts, repair bugs, and add to internal tooling that improves support operations.
- Collect customer feedback and share it with Product and Engineering to inform roadmap decisions.
- Join on-call coverage to handle urgent customer issues and local holiday support needs.
- Coach cross-functional teammates technically and help improve escalation and support workflows.
- Form and advocate for strong opinions on developer experience and product reliability improvements.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience supporting developer-facing products in roles such as Support Engineer, Developer Success Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or a similar customer-facing position.
- Ability to read, debug, and reason through Python and/or TypeScript code.
- Comfort learning APIs, SDKs, and developer tools quickly.
- Strong ownership of technical issues and a willingness to stay with a problem until the customer is unblocked.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills, especially when explaining complicated issues.
- Strong curiosity about LLM use cases and enthusiasm for tools that make AI more measurable, reliable, and trustworthy.
Bonus Experience
- Background supporting developer tools, ML infrastructure, or observability products.
- Exposure to OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs.
- Comfort working with datasets, evaluation metrics, or prompt engineering.
- Experience improving support tooling, documentation, or product-led growth efforts.
- Experience as a senior technical contributor or tech lead in a fast-growing environment, especially in ambiguous scenarios.
- History of submitting pull requests to production systems to resolve customer-impacting bugs in backend services, SDKs, or infrastructure.
- Cloud certifications or equivalent hands-on experience troubleshooting containerized environments such as Terraform or Kubernetes.
