Position Overview
As a Digital Services Engineer at Fedegari Tech Service, you will manage software and automation expertise within the Customer Experience division, delivering remote and IoT-based digital services across the installed machinery. You will be responsible for maintaining the digital-service platforms, including remote assistance, machine data intelligence, predictive maintenance, and the machine Data Room. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of new digital services to expand the company's service portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee software and automation knowledge across the Customer Experience sector.
- Deliver remote digital services based on software and IoT technologies across the installed base.
- Ensure availability and correct functioning of digital-service platforms such as remote assistance, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and machine Data Room.
- Manage the software lifecycle for customer orders, including versions, upgrades, notifications, and maintenance services.
- Coordinate field Automation Engineer interventions related to software and programming tasks.
- Propose innovative digital services for evaluation to enrich the service portfolio.
- Develop and enhance the competencies of Digital Services technicians within the division.
- Provide support and act as a reference for field engineers and Help Desk teams regarding software and automation issues.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders for remote customer and technician support.
- Prepare and deliver new software versions and maintenance services as part of service delivery.
- Configure and initiate in-house developed application software and perform troubleshooting and impact analysis on software and hardware matters.
- Operate remote assistance tools for the installed equipment base.
- Monitor machine data by collecting IoT-based information and manage data intelligence platforms and predictive maintenance tools.
- Analyse installed base data and remote monitoring insights to identify service improvement opportunities and recommend new digital services.
- Support sales teams in tailoring digital solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate with headquarters and international teams across time zones to handle open cases, technical feedback, and maintain consistent technical standards and continuous service delivery.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Educational background in Computer, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a technical diploma in IT, Electrical, or Electrotechnical fields.
- Proficiency in software and automation engineering, including control systems such as PLC, SCADA, and DCS.
- Experience with PLC programming platforms like Siemens and Rockwell.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and relational databases (SQL).
- Familiarity with IoT and machine data analytics, as well as remote-support and assistance platforms.
- Understanding of software lifecycle management and version control.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Fluency in English and local language.
- Possess soft skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, customer focus, autonomy, teamwork, and proactivity.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in industrial automation/control-system software with involvement in remote support, software lifecycle management, and preferably familiarity with IoT and international operational environments.
