Role Overview
As a Drone Mapping Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering precise aerial imagery on dairy farms throughout your region, providing essential data for paddock mapping and deployment planning. This hands-on position requires traveling to numerous farm locations, operating drones to capture consistent imagery, coordinating visits with farmers, and ensuring all mapping work meets Halter's quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Travel extensively across your assigned region to perform drone mapping on dairy farms.
- Plan farm visits by considering factors such as weather conditions, farmer availability, travel distance, and deployment schedules.
- Communicate directly with farmers to arrange visit times, discuss access needs, and explain on-farm activities.
- Capture high-quality aerial photos that will support the generation of accurate ortho maps for farm management.
- Upload, log, and verify mapping data meticulously following each farm visit.
- Demonstrate professionalism as a representative of Halter while working on customer sites.
- Perform additional farm-related tasks as occasionally required.
Candidate Profile
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport with farmers and present Halter positively.
- Strong organizational talents allowing independent daily planning and efficient management of multiple farm visits.
- Dependability, a solid work ethic, and dedication to fulfilling commitments promptly.
- Capability to work autonomously post-training while maintaining team communication.
- Keen eye for detail when handling aerial data capture and administration.
- Adaptive problem-solving skills to handle unforeseen challenges such as weather, accessibility issues, or equipment complications.
- Possession of a valid, clean full driving license.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and stay away from home for 2-3 nights weekly.
Additional Information
