Engineering Manager

Overview

A prominent Oil & Gas Engineering Design and Manufacturing firm based in Dubai seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager. The role demands ensuring all projects are budgeted accurately, planned meticulously, executed efficiently, and delivered promptly in alignment with company protocols and customer expectations. The individual will engage in multidisciplinary engineering tasks and collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering on technical facets including design, engineering, proposal preparation, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating and preparing proposals for upcoming opportunities.
• Analyze client needs and convert them into feasible, executable solutions.
• Contribute to pricing strategies by evaluating materials, fabrication, and associated risks.
• Identify potential gaps, assumptions, and risks early in projects.
• Implement value engineering methods to optimize project outcomes.
• Review project progress, costs, and document lessons learned.
• Generate technical and commercial content for enquiries with transparent costing covering project risks.
• Interpret technical drawings including general assembly, fabrication, and electrical as relevant.
• Employ first-principles to resolve engineering challenges.
• Review electrical documentation to ensure compliance with international and project-specific standards.
• Lead and evaluate activities of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Plan, organize, direct, control, and appraise project progress to ensure timely delivery meeting client expectations.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure execution aligns with project scope, industry standards, timelines, budget, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate internally with design, production, and project teams to confirm feasibility.
• Oversee review of drawings, documentation, and technical submissions.
• Ensure design intent compatibility with manufacturing and installation realities.
• Conduct site visits and surveys for clients.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and remote troubleshooting of existing installations.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Project Management qualifications are advantageous.
• At least 8 years of experience in production, operations, project management, or construction within modular and structural fabrication sectors, including international exposure.
• Minimum 5 years in leadership roles such as Project Manager or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with FEED/EPC contractors is desirable.
• Proficient knowledge of engineering standards like API, NFPA, ASME, BS/EN.
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities to tackle complex engineering problems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contract administration, documentation, and EPCM practices.
• Expertise in project methodologies, change management, value engineering, manufacturing, modular and structural fabrication, construction, and production processes.
• Well-versed in supply chain operations.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, and Primavera.
• Fluent in English with excellent problem-solving and adaptive skills fostering an inclusive and non-discriminatory team environment.
