Entry-Level Financial Data Analyst

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Financial Data Analyst who is eager to convert complex financial data into clear and actionable insights that aid in budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making. This role involves close collaboration with senior analysts, finance teams, and operational leaders to maintain financial data sets, generate reports, and uncover trends that optimize cost management and enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Aggregate, cleanse, and standardize financial data from internal systems, spreadsheets, and reporting platforms.
• Support month-end and quarter-end financial analyses by examining revenue trends, expense behaviors, and variances.
• Create reports and dashboards to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyze cost factors, spending habits, and operational metrics to pinpoint inefficiencies.
• Help finance personnel develop financial models and scenario analysis tools.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), develop data visualizations, and compile summaries for leadership review.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality control, and proper documentation across all financial data sources.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets with capabilities including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
• Basic knowledge of SQL to query financial databases.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Strong analytical thinking accompanied by meticulous attention to numerical accuracy.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly in a straightforward, business-oriented manner.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
