Job Overview
This full-time position is based in Raleigh, NC, combining office work with remote days each week. Candidates may expect frequent travel and extended on-site fieldwork lasting several weeks. A relocation stipend is available for applicants moving to Raleigh. The start date is immediate.
Responsibilities
- Support project management teams across various client projects primarily related to lead in drinking water.
- Communicate effectively through outreach, phone calls, meetings, email correspondence, and presentation preparation.
- Prepare detailed notes, draft reports, and other written materials.
- Use GIS tools to assist in project data management.
- Conduct routine project activities and strategic planning.
- Collect, analyze, and review data using Microsoft Excel and online databases.
- Perform technical evaluations of water infrastructure drawings.
- Assist with office operations including shipment handling and document mailing (ability to lift up to 50 lbs).
- Engage in fieldwork such as soft digs using hand tools and water sample collection (no heavy machinery involved).
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or related disciplines; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in managing and manipulating data with MS Excel including formulas.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Comfortable performing both office duties and physically demanding onsite field tasks.
- Willing to undergo background checks and drug testing according to local regulations.
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship currently or in the future.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to the water sector, including internships.
- Experience working on lead-related drinking water projects.
- Skills in data visualization, management, and reporting through database systems.
- Technical writing experience, such as grant or RFP drafting.
Work Environment
Standard business hours with flexible scheduling to accommodate field activities, which may include early starts or late finishes. Onsite presence at the Raleigh office is typical a minimum of three days per week including Mondays and Thursdays, with remote work on other weekdays.
