Financial Analyst

Job Overview

The Financial Analyst position focuses on evaluating financial conditions and creditworthiness by conducting comprehensive credit analyses. This includes gathering data, computing key financial ratios, benchmarking against industry norms and competitors, thereby facilitating accurate credit assessments for customers to be presented in the Credit Application Memorandum (CA).

Key Responsibilities

• Adherence to all relevant departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions to ensure consistent and controlled workflow.
• Comply with Credit Policies, Credit Rating procedures, and ensure proper credit rating standards are met.
• Perform daily operational tasks related to the role to maintain workflow continuity.
• Receive credit proposals and customer information from Corporate Banking relationship managers to conduct required credit analyses.
• Gather additional financial data from internal and external sources to establish comprehensive datasets supporting thorough analysis.
• Arrange financial data within spreadsheets, perform ratio and cash flow analyses, and validate risk ratings through the bank’s rating system.
• Carry out sector analyses to assess customers’ standing within their respective industries.
• Communicate findings on financial health, creditworthiness, and recommended credit limits to relationship managers for inclusion in the Credit Application Memorandum.
• Participate in identifying opportunities to enhance processes and practices, incorporating international best practices, aimed at business process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
• Assist in preparing accurate and timely reports in alignment with Riyad Bank’s policies and departmental standards.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental management policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA or CIMA are preferred.
• Between 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in the banking sector, ideally in credit analysis or credit risk management.
• Intermediate proficiency in English is required.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of corporate credit analysis techniques.
• Understanding of bank credit policies and associated procedures.
• Experience in credit evaluation and lending processes.
