Located in the creative London design studio, this role offers the chance to contribute to the brand's future alongside teams at the head office in Shirebrook.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist the development and design of Jack Wills collections spanning multiple product categories.
- Conduct extensive trend, competitor, and market research to identify key styles, colors, fabrics, and product opportunities each season.
- Create engaging mood boards, trend presentations, and customer-focused design concepts.
- Produce precise CADs, technical drawings, and specification packs to support product development.
- Support fabric, trim, and garment sourcing efforts to ensure high-quality, commercially viable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Buying, and Technical teams to develop products that meet customer needs and business goals.
- Communicate daily with overseas factories to oversee development, approvals, and project timelines.
- Review samples, giving clear feedback to suppliers throughout product lifecycles.
- Participate in fit sessions with the Garment Technology team to contribute to fit and product improvements.
- Manage and organize samples efficiently for meetings, fittings, and presentations.
- Assist with preparing range reviews and internal sign-off meetings.
- Foster a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative creative culture within the design team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A passion for fashion design and a commitment to shaping Jack Wills’ future beyond just a routine design role.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for product and design, with a strong interest in the fashion industry.
- Previous experience working in fashion design within a retail or supplier environment.
- Experience across multiple product categories is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, with solid CAD and technical drawing abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness of the UK high street and current retail market trends.
- Excellent organizational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to articulate ideas and progress.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with confidence to take initiative.
- A positive mindset with willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Experience or knowledge of AI design tools or generative AI is a plus but not mandatory.
