Laundry Attendant

Position Overview

The Laundry Attendant at Westin Hotels & Resorts in Riyadh is responsible for operating and overseeing the washing, dry cleaning, and drying equipment. This includes carefully adding chemicals, cleaning lint traps, and managing various laundry tasks to uphold fabric quality and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate washing and dry cleaning machines, monitor their function, and add necessary chemicals.
• Identify items with stains or damage and decide on repair, spot cleaning, rewashing, or discarding.
• Inspect articles after washing and drying to ensure cleanliness then transfer them to clean linen carts.
• Set drying machines to appropriate timing and temperature based on fabric types.
• Clean lint filters, dry cleaning filters, and drainage traps after every load.
• Fold laundered articles manually or with a folding machine according to designated sizes.
• Maintain precise records of laundered items for tracking purposes.
• Adhere strictly to company safety, security, and operational procedures, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions.
• Comply with all company policies including grooming standards, confidentiality, and asset protection.
• Foster positive teamwork by supporting colleagues and addressing employee concerns attentively.
• Ensure quality expectations are met and recommend new efficiency or cost-saving measures.
• Perform visual inspections of tools and equipment to detect any defects or issues.
• Physically able to stand, sit, or walk throughout the shift; handle objects up to 25 pounds; maneuver in confined or uneven spaces; bend, stoop, twist, and reach as necessary.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors within reasonable scope.

Qualifications

• No mandatory requirement for high school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous related work experience is required.
• No supervisory experience or licenses and certifications necessary.
