Laundry Presser

Position Overview

The Laundry Presser will efficiently handle the collection and classification of soiled laundry, operate washing and drying machinery in strict alignment with company standards, and apply appropriate treatments to stains based on fabric type. The role requires monitoring chemical levels and maintaining precise records of laundry loads and weights.

Key Duties

• Collect and segregate used laundry from chutes or housekeeping carts.
• Operate and oversee washing, dry cleaning, and drying machines according to protocols.
• Treat stained fabrics correctly depending on fabric and stain characteristics.
• Document laundry processing details, including the number of loads and dry cleaning weights.
• Transport laundry to dryers, arrange loads effectively, and maintain dryer cleanliness by removing lint and debris post-cycle.
• Keep a close eye on chemical container levels and report any dispensing or pump malfunctions to supervisors.
• Adhere strictly to company safety, security, and procedural policies; report hazards, malfunctions, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and respect confidentiality requirements.
• Cultivate positive teamwork and communicate effectively with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
• Ensure quality standards in all laundry operations and visually inspect tools and equipment for defects.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing or moving for extended periods, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and navigating confined or uneven spaces.
• Execute additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• No high school diploma or GED is required.
• No prior work or supervisory experience is necessary.
• No licenses or certifications are mandated.
