About the Role and Programme
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is embarking on an innovative 6-month fixed-term project through the Te Au Reka programme aimed at transforming access to justice by replacing manual, paper-based processes with a cutting-edge digital case management system. The role of Learning Designer is central to this initiative, tasked with creating engaging and accessible learning content that supports the smooth transition to this digital platform.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of a Learning Design Lead, you will design and develop comprehensive learning solutions aligned with programme goals and adult education principles. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and members of the learning team to ensure effective delivery to diverse audiences including Judiciary officials, Ministry staff, legal practitioners, and external third parties.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of two years' experience designing blended learning experiences, such as online modules, facilitated sessions, and videos, particularly for large digital transformation programmes.
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories and practices, with a track record of producing accessible, engaging, and outcome-driven learning materials.
- Hands-on proficiency with authoring and creative software like Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing tools, and LMS platforms (experience with Totara preferred).
- Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities to manage diverse stakeholder relationships effectively.
- A strong project orientation, capable of delivering quality results punctually within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a dedication to innovation and ongoing professional development to keep learning resources relevant and impactful.
- Adaptability and commitment to evolving the learning approach as needs change.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $85,562 and $109,862 per annum pro rata, dependent on skills and experience.
