Role Summary
The Learning & Development Manager will spearhead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of IMI’s enterprise-wide learning strategies. This position focuses on building a skilled, engaged workforce aligned with evolving business needs. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Manager will oversee learning technologies, onboarding procedures, instructional design, compliance training, and workforce development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and refine the enterprise learning and development strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to pinpoint capability gaps and create scalable learning initiatives.
- Develop annual learning plans that bolster strategic priorities and workforce readiness, including succession planning.
- Set learning standards, governance, and best practices across business units.
- Evaluate innovative learning technologies, including AI-powered tools, to enhance program efficacy.
- Manage Learning Management System (LMS) selection, deployment, administration, and improvements.
- Establish governance for learning content, user permissions, compliance, and reporting.
- Maintain learning catalogs, certification programs, curricula, pathways, and automated assignments.
- Coordinate with HRIS, IT, and vendors for system integrations and performance optimization.
- Assess organizational learning needs through workforce analytics, feedback, and performance data.
- Create technical training for diverse teams across field, engineering, and operations.
- Partner with subject matter experts to codify and disseminate technical knowledge.
- Design structured learning frameworks for technical, operational, and functional roles.
- Support apprenticeship, skilled trades, project management, safety, and engineering development programs.
- Design diverse instructional formats: instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning content.
- Produce eLearning courses, facilitator guides, job aids, videos, and digital resources.
- Apply adult learning science and instructional design principles to maximize engagement and retention.
- Ensure all learning materials reflect the company’s brand identity, culture, and values.
- Develop and manage enterprise onboarding programs focused on engagement, integration, and productivity.
- Collaborate with HR and managers to standardize onboarding and create role-specific plans.
- Track onboarding outcomes through feedback and retention metrics.
- Manage compliance training programs ensuring regulatory and organizational requirements are met and documented.
- Monitor compliance rates and address any training gaps proactively.
- Maintain records and reports supporting audit and regulatory compliance.
- Define KPIs to assess learning program impact and develop executive-level dashboards and reports.
- Use data trends to enhance learning solutions continuously.
- Serve as a trusted consultant across departments including Operations, Safety, Marketing, Finance, and IT.
- Work alongside Talent Acquisition to support onboarding and early career development.
- Collaborate closely with Leadership & Culture Development to synchronize learning and leadership initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the Learning & Development Specialist.
- Set team priorities, delegate responsibilities, and ensure execution of learning projects.
- Lead cross-functional learning initiatives from conception through implementation and ongoing refinement.
- Assist in designing and delivering leadership development programs integrating organizational culture and employee growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or related area.
- At least seven years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, or organizational development.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage learning programs enterprise-wide.
- Experience with Learning Management System administration or deployment.
- Preferred background in multi-site, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Strong familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design, onboarding best practices, and learning technologies.
- Proficiency in developing instructor-led, virtual, blended, and eLearning programs.
- Capability to collaborate with leaders and subject experts to identify needs and build scalable solutions.
- Experience in constructing technical, compliance, and professional development training a plus.
- Excellent project management skills managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Data-oriented mindset to measure effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Experience supporting organizational change and change management initiatives beneficial.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement across organizational levels.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with learning technologies.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for learning design preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally; must possess valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $110,000 to $145,000 based on qualifications and experience.
