Role Overview

We seek a skilled Learning Experience Designer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and design learning experiences, collaborating closely with clients and subject matter experts from the initial needs analysis through to the live deployment and beyond. You will manage your projects independently, applying your expertise to shape effective learning approaches. Your design work will span two service lines: bespoke learning structured around client-specific processes and digital adoption support embedded within enterprise IT systems. The focus is on usability — ensuring the learning aids users during their moment of need and facilitates ongoing capability retention within the client organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create learner-centred designs based on clients’ actual workflows rather than off-the-shelf modules.
• Perform thorough needs assessments to identify learner requirements and knowledge gaps.
• Develop a variety of digital learning assets including role-specific e-learning courses, microlearning units, interactive scenarios, and assessments.
• Apply multimedia design expertise to produce clear, accessible, and engaging interactive materials.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to verify content accuracy and relevance.
• Produce supporting materials such as user guides, video walkthroughs, and job aids to facilitate go-live and ongoing adoption.
• Develop in-application support tools like walkthroughs, tooltips, and guided flows to provide real-time help within enterprise systems.
• Implement learning solutions directly into client tools to ensure sustainability without ongoing external support.
• Design and set up AI-driven learner support systems (e.g., AI bots in SharePoint) to offer just-in-time assistance.
• Utilise AI resources to boost content creation efficiency, maintaining high quality through rigorous editorial reviews.
• Collect and analyse data to evaluate learning effectiveness and guide design improvements.
• Explore and pilot innovative tools and methods to enhance on-the-job learning usability, staying up to date with digital learning advancements.
• Engage closely with client teams and subject matter experts, managing relationships and expectations throughout design and rollout phases.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 3 and 5 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design roles.
• Documented success in designing and implementing digital learning programmes.
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring platforms such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate and multimedia creation tools.
• Practical experience integrating AI tools into real content or learning development workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of learning management systems and associated technologies.
• Excellent multitasking and project management skills.
• Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Creative problem-solving skills coupled with a passion for understanding learning processes and enabling new work behaviours.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related discipline preferred; Master’s degree considered an advantage.
• Experience in sectors like infrastructure, utilities, or other regulated/asset-intensive industries is a plus.
• Hands-on familiarity with Digital Adoption Platforms (e.g., WalkMe, Whatfix, Pendo, Stonly) or similar in-application guidance solutions.
• Knowledge of enterprise platforms such as work management or asset management systems (Oracle Unifier, IBM Maximo, IFS Copperleaf, Oracle P6).
• Technical writing background beneficial.
• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint environments.
