Job Overview
The Manager - Operational Technology at Modon is responsible for enhancing operational processes, systems, and data-driven decision-making across the lifecycle of assets and services. This leadership role guides enterprise-wide improvements in facilities, asset management, customer services, and associated operations while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive standardization and control of enterprise processes focusing on customer-centric outcomes prior to automation.
- Lead adoption and optimization of CAFM/EAM systems and other related operational platforms.
- Manage lifecycle-ready, reliable, and governed asset and operational information for improved performance.
- Enhance asset reliability, service levels, customer satisfaction, and operational decision-making.
- Verify and sustain financial, productivity, compliance, and risk mitigation benefits post-implementation.
- Oversee a governed pipeline of automation, analytics, and AI-enabled projects for continuous improvement.
- Own the multi-year operational technology roadmap, prioritizing investments aligned with enterprise strategies.
- Develop and monitor business cases, benefit plans, and assign ownership to track value realization into routine operations.
- Lead cross-functional programs ensuring scope, budget, schedule, risks, procurement, and governance adherence.
- Provide executive-level updates on progress, risks, performance, and realized value.
- Design target operating models including process ownership, roles, service models, controls, and capabilities.
- Manage enterprise-wide requirements from discovery through acceptance and controlled changes.
- Simplify and standardize workflows across functions and subsidiaries to eliminate inefficiencies before automation.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of process, information, and system improvements.
- Function as product owner and design authority for CAFM and other operational systems, overseeing configurations, testing, and release approvals.
- Ensure standardized processes for asset registers, work management, maintenance, inspections, service requests, contracts, space, inventory, and field operations.
- Monitor system adoption, data quality, service levels, control effectiveness, and user satisfaction; champion continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead application and governance of BIM, AIM, AIS, common data environments, and information handovers across asset lifecycles.
- Set and enforce information requirements, ownership, standards, and quality gates at enterprise and project levels.
- Integrate data from CAFM/EAM, GIS, ERP, CRM, BMS, IoT, and business intelligence to enable a unified performance view.
- Identify and operationalize AI, automation, and analytics use cases collaboratively with Digital and IT teams ensuring responsible and value-driven implementation.
- Embed customer requirements, service standards, and feedback mechanisms into workflow and functional design.
- Link customer requests and service feedback to operational accountability and reporting frameworks.
- Use data on assets, services, costs, condition, and customer journeys to drive improvements in reliability and resource allocation.
- Establish KPIs and review routines that translate insights into accountable management actions.
- Lead and develop direct reports and matrix teams, building capabilities in process ownership, product management, and value realization.
- Foster networks of sponsors, process owners, and super users to support change management and sustained adoption.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure outcome-aligned quality, service, knowledge transfer, and contracts compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Asset Management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years leading complex operational or business transformations in asset-intensive sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, or community services.
- Project or program management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent) or commitment to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
- Proven accountability in improving facilities, asset maintenance, customer service, or field operations with clear evidence of process ownership and operational performance management.
- Demonstrable leadership of enterprise-scale transformations from business case through to implementation, adoption, and benefit realization.
- Experience as a functional owner or optimizer of CAFM, EAM, or similar operational platforms.
- Strong background in developing target operating models, requirements management, workflow optimization, governance, supplier management, and executive reporting.
- Capability to identify and implement AI, automation, and analytics cases in partnership with Digital and IT ensuring responsible deployment and measurable results; technical coding or model development is not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in business, engineering, asset or facilities management, or transformation fields.
- Change management certification such as Prosci or APMG Change Management.
- Relevant professional certifications like CFM, FMP, IAM Certificate/Diploma, Lean Six Sigma, or ISO 19650 information management.

- Develops strong evidence-based business cases and tracks benefits throughout transition to business-as-usual.
- Leads and influences both direct and matrix teams, fostering capability and ownership throughout organizational boundaries.
- Communicates complex operational decisions clearly to diverse audiences including executives, users, technical teams, and suppliers.
