Role overview

The Materials Analyst will help balance supply and demand for ingredients and packaging across bakeries within BBU’s inbound supply chain.

Core responsibilities

• Carry out MRP and replenishment reviews to confirm the right stocking levels for ingredients and packaging at assigned plants.
• Issue release orders to approved suppliers using existing purchase contracts and blanket POs, monitor confirmations, and speed up shipments when needed so inventory stays within BBU targets.
• Keep web-based inventory planning sheets updated on the required weekly or daily cycle.
• Create release orders in Oracle and follow through on confirmations to ensure ingredients and packaging arrive on time.
• Coordinate transitions tied to innovation, packaging redesigns, promotions, and product transfers.
• Collect and refresh forecasts in inventory planning sheets to support new product launches and promotional plans.
• Review and manage release orders for bulk ingredients at the assigned plants.
• Analyze slow-moving inventory each month and take action to reduce obsolescence.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Spot, investigate, and implement cost-saving improvements.
• Monitor incoming orders and expedite them when needed to keep bakery production running.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent education, training, and experience may be accepted if they demonstrate the needed capability.
• Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or customer service.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working with Excel, ERP systems, and Outlook.
• Ability to contribute as a team member in a high-volume, fast-moving, time-sensitive environment.

Compensation and benefits

The posted salary range is $56,500 to $73,400 per year. This role also includes annual bonus eligibility, a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.
