Job Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Busway department reporting directly to the Manager Engineering. This role involves global design engineering support focused on new product development, value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) initiatives, and improvement projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on design engineering tasks for new product development, VAVE, and enhancement projects within a global team environment.
- Work on concept design, developing bills of materials, detailed CAD modeling using SolidWorks, and processing change orders to maintain organizational quality standards.
- Develop parts and assemblies, providing comprehensive design packages including 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOM structures.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision while adhering to project management processes defined by the organization.
- Maintain schedule and quality benchmarks, communicating as per the organization's communication plan.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with relevant exposure to design environments.
- 3-5 years of SolidWorks experience, particularly in sheet metal design and 3D modeling.
- Proficient in generating bills of materials and understanding change order processes.
- Experience with PLM tools (Agile or PD Cloud is a plus).
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and telecom/electrical enclosure design is advantageous.
- Ability to manage large CAD assemblies and implement required modifications.
- Experience with external simplified representation is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills in English, self-motivated, organized, disciplined, and eager to learn.
