Principal Engineer - Stormwater

About the Role

Join WSP’s Auckland water team as a Principal Stormwater Engineer and lead impactful multidisciplinary projects. This senior role involves technical leadership in designing, preparing drawings, specifications, reports, and producing practical and implementable stormwater management designs. You will collaborate closely with various disciplines and stakeholders to deliver complex infrastructure projects that meet client expectations.

The projects you will lead include transformative initiatives such as Blue-Green networks, major transportation developments, pipe networks and culvert designs, water quality solutions, constructed ponds and wetlands, as well as stream restoration efforts—all critical to infrastructure development across Auckland and New Zealand.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Bachelor of Engineering (BE).
• Consulting experience is highly desirable.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent accreditation required.
• At least ten years of professional experience focused on stormwater infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, 12D, or other relevant design software.
• Project management skills and related training are advantageous.
• Innovative and solution-oriented mindset with strong collaboration and relationship-building capabilities.
• Possession of a valid and clean driver’s license.
