Role Overview
The Project Control Expert position is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, Ontario. This specialist will be accountable for managing project finances, schedules, and performance metrics. Responsibilities include drafting and sustaining project budgets, monitoring spending, and delivering regular reports detailing costs and variances to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and analyze project cost, schedule, and performance to ensure alignment with goals.
- Formulate and maintain detailed project budgets, monitoring expenditures throughout project lifecycle.
- Generate periodic reports on cost status and variances for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to synchronize financial plans with project objectives.
- Identify risks related to costs and recommend mitigation measures.
- Analyze project data to update forecasts and support cost management procedures.
- Drive continuous enhancements in project control methods and tools.
- Communicate findings and suggestions clearly to leadership teams to maintain project schedules and budgets.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in cost control and management for monitoring and optimizing project expenditures.
- Strong skills in project control and budgeting to establish budgets and track financial progress.
- Advanced analytical abilities to interpret data trends and enable informed decision-making.
- Experience with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Educational background in finance, accounting, engineering, business, or related disciplines preferred.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in Toronto and collaborate across varied teams, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certifications related to project management or cost control (e.g., PMP, CCP) are advantageous.
