Role Overview

The R&D Consultant role calls for a motivated, self-starting individual eager to contribute bold ideas to enhance client outcomes. This person will foster a culture of passion, growth, simplicity, and enjoyment within the team, helping prmpt. reach ambitious objectives over the next 2-5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Onboard new clients and gather relevant data from staff and existing systems.
• Develop R&D strategies including forecasts and budgeting.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular communications.
• Work closely with clients to ensure effective results.
• Educate clients and their teams on best practices in R&D procedures.
• Conduct financial and expense audits.
• Perform technical and theoretical research.
• Prepare applications for other government grants such as Industry Growth Program (IGP) and Export Market Development Grant (EMDG).
• Write complete applications for Research & Development Tax Incentive claims.
• Assist in improving internal workflows, streamlining client reporting, analytics, and engagement processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Excellent knowledge of the Research & Development Tax Incentive and the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
• Strong understanding of the RDTI Guide to Interpretation.
• Experience in technical writing.
• Familiarity managing R&D Tax Incentive claims and related documentation.
• Preference for experience with Industry Growth Program (IGP) and Export Market Development Grants (EMDG), but not mandatory.
• Robust research and analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Proficiency with Xero and other accounting software platforms.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication and time management abilities, with capability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a growing team.
• Curiosity and interest in innovation and technological progress.
