Job Overview
The Real Time Coordinator (RTC) is responsible for managing and overseeing real-time operational support related to drilling and industrial data monitoring. This role ensures effective communication and coordination between operations teams, customers, rig staff, and technical support to maintain uninterrupted real-time data services and facilitate timely incident resolution, supporting 24/7 operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee real-time support for assigned drilling rigs and customer environments.
- Monitor health and status of data acquisition and visualization systems.
- Ensure continuous coverage and prompt reaction to incidents or service disruptions.
- Coordinate shift activities and facilitate smooth transitions between support teams.
- Serve as the main contact during operational incidents and data outages.
- Track and resolve incident tickets efficiently.
- Escalate critical issues to appropriate technical or management personnel.
- Communicate timely updates and status reports to stakeholders and clients.
- Collaborate with customers, rig personnel, drilling teams, and technical groups.
- Conduct follow-ups and provide regular service status updates.
- Support meetings, operational reviews, and reporting efforts.
- Coordinate with Real Time Data Administrators to ensure data accuracy and system uptime.
- Monitor and address interruptions in data flow promptly.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating system maintenance, upgrades, and planned downtime.
- Prepare operational documentation including reports, shift summaries, incident records, and KPI tracking.
- Maintain logs, escalation documentation, and service records.
- Monitor SLA adherence and support compliance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE, cybersecurity, and operational protocols.
- Participate in initiatives to improve operational processes and optimize performance.
- Promote best practices among support teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Instrumentation, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in a relevant domain.
- Familiarity with real-time drilling data systems and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of WITS/WITSML, OPC UA, and Modbus communication protocols.
- Experience with real-time data aggregation and visualization tools.
- Understanding rig instrumentation and monitoring systems.
- Insight into drilling operations and parameters.
- Experience with incident management and ticketing platforms.
- Basic networking and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiar with SLA management and operational reporting.
- Preferred experience in real-time operations centers or drilling support units.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to manage high-pressure operational incidents.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotating shift environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking aptitude.
- Attention to detail and adherence to operational discipline.
- Exposure to upstream oil & gas drilling operations support.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in operational technology settings.
- Experience with cloud-based operational platforms and analytics.
- Customer-facing support or service delivery experience.
- ITIL or incident management certifications are advantageous.
- Availability for 24/7 rotational shift work.
