School Caretaker

Position Overview

A primary school in Huyton, Knowsley, is looking for a committed and skilled full-time School Caretaker to support the daily functioning and upkeep of the school's premises. This critical role aids in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties

• Ensure cleanliness and neatness across classrooms, corridors, and common areas of the school.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance tasks including unblocking drains, replacing light bulbs, and repairing door handles.
• Manage the setup and takedown of equipment for events such as assemblies and school activities.
• Observe and report any health and safety hazards to relevant parties promptly.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers to maintain facility operations seamlessly.
• Maintain security by overseeing locking and unlocking of doors and gates.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the school's management team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience working as a caretaker or in building maintenance roles is preferred.
• Hands-on skills to carry out a variety of maintenance and repair duties effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage well with school staff, students, and visitors.

Compensation

The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £90,000 to £110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
