Scrum Master

Position Overview

This opportunity is offered on behalf of a partner company looking for an experienced Scrum Master located in Ireland. This role focuses on enabling multiple Agile teams to enhance their collaboration, delivery outcomes, and ongoing improvement efforts in a technology-centric, remote-first setting. The Scrum Master will guide 3-5 diverse Scrum and Kanban teams, helping them foster autonomy, efficiency, and alignment with business aims.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and support to several Scrum and Kanban teams at varying levels of Agile maturity to boost their effectiveness, teamwork, and self-organization.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including Scrum events, Kanban cadences, retrospectives, workshops, strategic meetings, and facilitate cross-team stakeholder discussions.
• Train Product Owners, Team Leads, and team members on Agile principles and continuous improvement methods to enhance delivery processes.
• Mentor fellow Scrum Masters and actively contribute to advancing Agile methodologies across the organization.
• Track and interpret key Delivery, Flow, Quality, and Team Health metrics, develop dashboards, and share insights to guide improvement activities and decision-making.
• Detect, escalate, and assist in removing impediments impacting teams beyond their direct control.
• Initiate and back process optimization, collaboration enhancements, and delivery excellence initiatives.
• Help form Agile strategies by establishing shared principles, metrics, and frameworks for cross-team collaboration while honoring team autonomy.
• Encourage a workplace culture valuing transparency, experimentation, psychological safety, and continuous learning.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 4 years in roles such as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or equivalent with experience managing multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
• Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and various Agile frameworks, capable of tailoring practices based on team dynamics and business goals.
• Proven track record partnering successfully with Product Owners, engineering leadership, and technical teams to develop high-performing groups.
• Skilled facilitator adept at managing complex discussions, retrospectives, workshops, and resolving conflicts constructively.
• Experienced in evaluating team maturity and fostering psychologically safe environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with Delivery and Flow metrics like Lead Time, Cycle Time, Throughput, WIP, Flow Efficiency, Sprint Predictability, CFD, and Velocity.
• Ability to correlate process metrics with quality measures, business impact, and team wellness insights.
• Competent in creating dashboards and generating reports using tools such as Jira, Google Sheets, and Confluence.
• Understanding of modern software development workflows including SDLC, Git Flow, CI/CD pipelines, Release Management, SLO/SLI, and DevOps culture.
• Strong systems-thinking capabilities, persuasive communication skills, and confidence facilitating data-driven, sensitive conversations.
• Experience in product-centered companies with multiple web development squads, Agile scaling initiatives, Evidence-Based Management, Liberating Structures, or involvement in Agile Centers of Excellence is advantageous.
