Position Overview
The Senior Systems Administrator is tasked with ensuring the dependable operation, comprehensive security, and efficiency enhancements of QSE’s IT infrastructure. This encompasses management of on-premises and cloud systems, covering Windows, Linux, virtualization, storage, backup, and business continuity platforms. The role prioritizes cybersecurity, automation, and adherence to IT governance standards within QSE.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize server environments across Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms, both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Oversee enterprise cloud services including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and AWS, ensuring their security, availability, and smooth integration.
- Deploy automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform to improve operational efficiency.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, identity and access management, and privileged access controls.
- Enhance cybersecurity posture by enforcing security controls, managing vulnerabilities, patching systems, monitoring infrastructure, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Design, maintain, and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions to ensure critical system reliability.
- Support enterprise databases with emphasis on availability, security, and optimal performance.
- Monitor infrastructure metrics including performance, capacity, and health, and generate operational and compliance reports.
- Provide expert-level technical support, collaborate with internal teams, and manage relationships with vendors to maintain trustworthy IT service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps Administrator, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL are strongly preferred.
- At least 4 years of practical experience managing enterprise Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, VMware, Active Directory, automation, and scripting skills.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, IT governance, identity and access management, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
- Experience with SQL and Oracle database administration is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
